Scribe: – Empowering Healthcare Providers With Enhanced Productivity And Profitability

Technology plays a crucial role in the success of any business model impacting not just the product or service providers but all associated stakeholders including the beneficiaries of the business services. The Healthcare sector is no exception to that. Increasing patient demands, volume of data involved, costs of providing healthcare, amount of time spent in patient encounter documentation and medical record storage leads to a greater need for innovating and use of better and robust technology.

Artificial Intelligence is disrupting many businesses in the way companies operate and run the business model and is helping tremendously in gaining efficiencies. In the healthcare industry, change and evolution are constant. Having portable information to take care of patients wherever they are – in person or remotely – is going to be key to achieving cost reductions and improved care. Developing a work-life balance for providers can be a challenge when too much time is spent on patient encounter documentation.

Scribe Technology Solutions is a back-office solutions provider that focuses on the three P’s—productivity, profitability, and patient care. It enables the capture, creation, communication, monetization, and analysis of healthcare information. Scribe has been enabling healthcare providers to focus on what matters the most – Patient Care.

Scribe is engaged with practitioners, technologists, regulators, and industry experts to create intuitive products that are a step or two ahead of where healthcare is headed.

Products And Services

Scribe’s service portfolio is comprised of solutions which offer the healthcare organizations the medical information of patients at their fingertips. Scribe’s range of solutions for patient encounter documentation range from simple transcription to virtual medical scribing, with other options to fit any provider’s workflow and goals for completed documentation.

The foundation to Scribe’s solutions is the use of  ScribeMobile. This innovative app allows providers access to patient information and documentation anywhere, anytime and breaks the ties to the computer, giving the provider far more flexibility.  Adoption of the mobile app will continue to grow as more and more providers are comfortable using mobile devices in all areas of work and it adds more productivity modules to the app.

The Growth Story..

Scribe was created by doctors, practice managers, and administrators to leverage latest technologies that redefine the way medical practitioners work.  Healthcare is always evolving, with requirements changing constantly on top of the wide variety of ways that healthcare is delivered today – from small offices to large university systems, each with their own methods.  Scribe works to demonstrate how the company’s solutions work within the existing EMR/EHR software systems with minimal disruption to practices’ workflow.

Scribe is headquartered in Naples, Florida. The company’s staff is spread throughout the United States. Scribe’s leadership team represents many decades of work within the healthcare field, primarily the field of documentation.

A portion of Scribe’s customer base comes from mergers and acquisitions of patient documentation companies.  The rest comes from the organic efforts of the sales team who works with each practice to develop the right solution to that practices needs and goals.  The company’s customer support team works diligently to retain the existing customers and the company believes keeping existing customers happy is more important than having many unhappy customers.

Continuous Innovation

  • Scribe is following the growth path by engaging in strategic partnerships. Scribe is currently working with a new strategic partner for voice powered commands for use with ScribeMobile. This will further free providers from being tied to their computers, especially during a patient exam.
  • Scribe is also expanding their chart completion solutions. This will give Scribe more options to tailor a workflow in coordination with each provider that meets the provider’s goals and protocols
  • Scribe added an innovative solution to the ScribeMobile solution – LiveScribe. Providers simply log into ScribeMobile, and then connect to Scribe’s available queue of virtual medical scribes (VMS) during a patient encounter. The VMS logs into the EMR and follows instructions. The provider interaction and tasks can continue while all interaction is recorded. The VMS completes the report with edits and approvals as usual.

Achievements

Scribe is proud of two of the very important achievements:

  • Technology innovations that make Scribe’s solutions successful. Scribe considered the challenges that made providers’ work more cumbersome and time consuming, and then worked backward to develop technology to ease the burden.  The focus was always on the end benefit to allow providers to focus on what matters most – patient care
  • Bringing together different documentation businesses and forging a new company with the best people and practices that can take patient encounter documentation to a new level.
